General

General questions.

  • Do I need a referral to see a physical therapist?

No. Michigan is a direct-access state. You can book a Complete Kinetic Chain Assessment at Thera Performance Lab without a doctor's referral, prior diagnosis, or pre-authorization. Same-day appointments are usually available.

  • Where is Thera Performance Lab located?

146 S. Broadway St., Suite 160, in downtown Lake Orion, Michigan. Reserved parking is available north of the building, plus Broadway Street parking and the Children's Park lot off Front St.

  • What hours are you open?

Tuesday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Closed Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

The Assessment

The Assessment questions.

  • What is the Complete Kinetic Chain Assessment?

A full-body movement evaluation. We assess how your upper and lower chains move together, trace compensation patterns to their origin, and give you a specific recovery plan. One visit. $99.

Our Methodology

Our Methodology questions.

  • How is Thera Performance Lab different from regular physical therapy?

Most clinics treat where it hurts. We assess the entire kinetic chain to find why it hurts. Every session is one-on-one with our therapist. No aides, no handoffs, no protocols written for someone else's body.

  • What is the kinetic chain?

The kinetic chain is the linked system of joints, muscles, and connective tissue that moves your body. Pain in one segment of the chain usually originates in another. Hip pain can start at the ankle. Shoulder pain can come from how the thoracic spine rotates. We trace it back.

  • What is the RX2600 robotic therapy system?

The RX2600 delivers sustained mechanical pressure, targeted heat, and controlled vibration to tissue at depths and durations no human hand can replicate. Thera Performance Lab is the only provider in the region using it as part of a complete kinetic chain treatment protocol.

Pricing & Insurance

Pricing & Insurance questions.

  • Do you accept insurance?

No. We operate completely outside the insurance model so we're not constrained by session caps or diagnosis-code protocols. Cash, credit, HSA, and FSA are accepted. Receipts are available for out-of-network reimbursement claims.

  • What does treatment cost after the $99 assessment?

Treatment session pricing depends on the recovery plan we build together at your assessment. We don't publish a session menu because the protocol is matched to your body. Not a service code. Pricing is discussed transparently before any treatment begins.

Scheduling

Scheduling questions.

  • How long does the assessment take?

Plan for 60 minutes. You leave with a specific answer about what's causing your pain and a targeted treatment plan. Not generic exercises.

  • Can I book a same-day appointment?

Most weeks, yes. Booking online via the IntakeQ scheduler shows real-time availability. Including same-day open slots. If nothing fits, call 248-690-5444 and we'll work something out.
